Privacy Statement

We collect your personal details and GP details to use during our work together.  In case of crime or harm to yourself or others, I would need to contact the appropriate authorities.  My need for knowing your medication or medical conditions, is to be aware of how these affects you during our work together.

Confidentiality & Exceptions

As a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), I abide by their code of ethics.  This means that there are certain constraints on my being able to keep what you share confidential e.g. all my practice is supervised.  

 

Under certain other circumstances it may be necessary for me to breach confidentiality by talking to someone. This may happen if; 

 

  • You give me your consent for this confidence to be broken. 
  • I am compelled to break that confidence by a court of law, child protection or the terrorism act.
  • Harming yourself or others.  In such circumstances I would always try and talk to you first.
  • A referring agency require a report. However, we would devise this together. 

Data

You have the right to access your personal data through a data access request, free of charge within one month of your request.   

 

 

You may withdraw your consent to my use of your data at any point, please contact me by letter or email to do so.  If you have any concerns about the way your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) 0303 123 1113
